Description |
The 3d Greenback Party National Convention (officially the National Greenback Labor Party) assembled in English's Opera House in Indianapolis IN. Delegates from 28 states and DC were in attendance.
Temporary Chairman: John Tyler Jr. FL (son of the President)
Permanent Chairman: James B. Weaver IA
When the platform committee reported, two minority reports were offered. The convention voted for the majority report, which precipitated a withdrawal of the Colorado delegation.
The convention nominated B.F. Butler for President on the first ballot. Absalom M. West MS was nominated unanimously for VP.
