Description |
In accordance with section 139(5) of the Election Act, the district electoral officer applied to the Supreme Court for a judicial recount. A judicial recount must be requested if the number of votes separating the two leading candidates is less than 1/500 (0.2%) of the total ballots considered.
Associate Chief Justice Patrick D. Dohm conducted the judicial recount. He certified the results shown below on June 10, 2005.
Lorne Mayencourt announced his resignation on September 8, 2008 to run for the Conservative Party in the riding of Vancouver Centre in the federal general election held on October 14, 2008. This seat was officially vacated on September 12, 2008.
