| Description |
Lt. Governor Knoll called a special election for April 5th, 2005.
The seat became vacant when Republican Charles Dent resigned from the Senate just before being sworn in last week as a congressman representing the Lehigh Valley. Since Dent was serving in the middle of a four-year Senate term, the candidate elected on April 5 will serve until Nov. 30, 2006.
