Description |
Samuel Crafts fell 1,885 votes short of a majority in the General Elections of 1830. The joint assembly convened on October 18 to hear the report of the canvassing committee and, in the case of the office of Governor, to vote by joint ballot for the three candidates who received the greatest number of votes. Crafts was elected on the 32nd ballot, receiving 115 of 225 ballots cast (51.1%). Palmer received 80 (35.5%), and Bradley 38 (16.9%), with 5 scattering votes.
