At the 44th Democratic National Convention, Sen. John F. Kerry was nominated for US President to run against President George W. Bush, and Sen. John R. Edwards was nominated as the Vice Presidential nominee.
Recap of the Democratic Primaries
In the Democratic primaries of 2004, Sen. Kerry won 46 state primaries and caucuses. He became the presumptive nominee after sweeping Super Tuesday, after which his only major opponent, Sen. Edwards, withdrew (3/3/04).
National Convention Venue
The convention was held in the Fleet Center in Boston MA. Constructed in 1995, the Fleet Center was located in the north part of Boston, just off I-93. The building was renamed the TD Banknorth Garden in 2005 and heavily modified in 2006.
