Center-left party formed by the ex-prefect of Guayas province, Jimmy Jairala. Jairala partnered with former president Rafael Correa's Alianza PAIS movement (dissolved and renamed the MOVER movement on December 4, 2021) and Correa-allied coalition Frente UNIDOS until breaking off in 2016, then switched to support Leni Moreno's government in return for position as environment minister. Jairala resigned to become an early supporter of presidential candidate Andres Arauz and the UNES coalition in 2021. Party then became an enthusiastic supporter of Jan Topic when he declared himself a presidential candidate ahead of elections in 2023, and co-founded Topic's For a Country Without Fear (Por un País Sin Miedo) coalition [Movimiento Centro Democrático (CD)].
