DescriptionA method by which the government of Singapore grants up to 12 seats in the Singapore Parliament to opposition parties. Seats (at first, non-voting until January 27, 2016) are offered to the best-performing opposition party members during a general election.

Concept was embedded in the Constitution in 1984 by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, who argued that the NCMP scheme would ensure that opposition voices would be heard in Parliament.
