Party migrated from persecuted anti-establishment coalition to coalition; joining the Coalition for Unity and Democracy (or 'Kinijit') then the Medrek opposition coalition in 2008. Party settled upon the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice coalition set up on May 12, 2019. Party dissolved itself the same day (also known as 'Andenet', a short form of UDJP's Amharic name).
