| Description | Federalist party and Angola's fourth-largest. Party calls itself "progressive and a defender of a center-left ideology" but appears to be beholden to diamond producing interests in the Lundas (Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul Provinces) in north-east Angola, where the party performs strongest. Party emerged at the time of the first elections held in the country in 1992. Party calls for autonomy for the detached oil-producing Province of Cabinda, which sits separated by a narrow strip of territory belonging to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Party has been led since inception by Eduardo Kuangana [Partido de Renovação Social (PRS)]. |
