DescriptionLiberal to left-of-center party formed by young Filipinos who supported Camarines Sur 2nd District MP and ex Education Minister Raul Roco for president in 1998. Roco joined his party to a center-left alliance with other candidates and their parties called the Alyansa ng Pag-asa (Alliance of Hope) which continued to contest in Senate elections until his death on August 5, 2005. Party had been jointly led since his death by his widow, Sonia C. Malasarte-Roco, his son (and Senator) Robbie Pierre and best friend Ernest M. Ramel Jr. The inclusion of Selig Mayor Vico Sotto in 2019 and the addition in its ranks of popular Manila mayor and 2022 presidential candidate Isko Moreno on August 4, 2021 gave the party an instant boost. Party maintains its youth-focused origins and supports the defederalization of the Philippines [Aksyon Demokratiko (AD or Aksyon); Democratic Action].
