| Description | Militant, Iran-sponsored and allied party previously known as the Badr Brigades. Party is the largest constituent member of the second largest alliance in the Iraq Parliament, the 'Fatah Alliance' which it joined in 2018.
The Organization was once part of the State of Law Coalition, breaking off in 2018 in an effort to undermine (successfully) the party's prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki.
The Badr Organization brought to the Fatah Alliance a militia which grew into the 150,000 soldier 'Popular Mobilization Forces' (PMF) equipped and led indirectly by Iran's Quds force.
The Badr Organization and the Alliance are headed by Hadi Al-Amiri. |
