DescriptionConservative pro-free market party and Sweden's second-largest (aka, 'The Moderate Coalition Party'). Party began as the Conservative Party (Allmänna valmansförbunde) which was formed in 1904 by MP Gustaf Fredrik Östberg, adopting its new name in 1969. The party's transition to liberal free market ideas began in 1981, which also swam over all of the major parties at the time, even the Social Democrats. Party has been led by Ulf Kristersson since October 1, 2017 [Moderaterna (M)].
