Conservative, agrarian-interests party begun as an association of farmers called the Auyl Peasant Social Democratic Party organized by farm leader and Mazhilis MP Gani Qaliev. After the party failed to enter parliament after elections held on January 15, 2012, Qaliev decided to resign, opening up positions to new leaders who eagerly agreed to merge Auyl with the Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan on September 5, 2015 to form today's Auyl People's Patriotic Democratic Party. Party has been led by Senator Äli Bektaev since August 26, 2015 [«Ауыл» Халықтық-демократиялық патриоттық партиясы (Auyl or Auyl HDPP); "Auyl" means "rural" or "village"].
