DescriptionCentrist, pro-democratization party founded by Beninese banker and Benin's 7th President (April 6, 2006–April 6, 2016) Thomas Boni Yayi. Boni Yayi had been an outspoken critic of future President Patrick Talon and was edged out by banker and 2015-16 Prime Minister Lionel Zinsou as a palliative, but to no avail. Party was forbidden to participate in the 2019 legislative elections by fiat and saw its representation in the Beninese Assembly subsequently wiped out. Boni Yayi was then forced to retire on February 2020 by internal allies of Talon planted within the party. Party President is January Yahouedeou. Party was permitted to participate in elections planned for January 8, 2023 [Force Cauris pour un Bénin Emergent (FCBE)].
