Far-left party formed by supporters of President Alexander Lukashenko. Party is closely linked and allied to the Communist Party of Belarus. Party originally began as the Belarusian Patriotic Movement co-founded by Lukashenko, who departed in 1996. Party was outspoken in its opposition to the break up of the USSR and the formation of the Belovezha Accords which established the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Party was led by Nikolai Ulakhovich, chairman of the public association Belarusian Cossacks, and held two seats in the House of Representatives. The party was abolished by order of the Supreme Court of Belarus on July 24, 2023 [Белорусская патриотическая партия].
