| Description | Center-left, Duartian (acolytes of Juan Pablo Duarte, a Dominican military leader, writer, activist, and father of Dominican independence in the 19th Century) party founded by former Attorney General and 2020 and 2024 Presidential candidate, Guillermo Moreno Garcia. Party almost doubled in size after it merged in 2020 with the Democratic Option (OD) founded by former deputy Tavárez Mirabal. The Alianza managed to pick up two seats in each of the two legislative bodies on July 5, 2020. Party calls itself "progressive" and opposes the "neoliberal-oriented economic model and the clientelist, corrupt and exclusive political model" [Alianza País, ALPAÍS]. |
