Description | French party under the third republic, founded in 1901, composed of mostly centre-right politicians. First called Republican Democratic Alliance (ARD) until 1911, it became known as the Democratic Alliance (AD) after 1926. The party was called Republican and Democratic Party from 1911 to 1917, then became the Republican Democratic Alliance again until 1920. The same party became the Republican Democratic and Social Party from 1920 to 1926.
