DescriptionConservative party formed in the lead-up to the 2010 upper house elections, primarily consisting of LDP rebels and right-leaning Independents loyal to Takeo Hiranuma, who became the first party leader. The party fared poorly, only electing one member from the proportional list.

In the lead-up to the 2012 lower house election, Sunrise teamed with outgoing Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara. In doing so, the party changed its name from Tachiagare Nippon (Sunrise Party of Japan) to Taiyo no To (Sunrise Party). A few days later, Sunrise merged into the Japan Restoration Party.
