Description | Big-tent party founded by supporters of former footballer and incumbent president of Liberia (since January 22, 2018), George Weah. Weah failed in his first attempt for the presidency after elections held in October 11, 2005, but managed to succeed in taking the presidency after elections held on October 10, 2017. Though in control of the government since 2018 and having the largest presence in the Liberian House with 21 seats, party claims to be "Liberia's largest grassroots opposition political party." Ahead of general elections planned in October 2023, the Congress adopted and promoted a Pro-Poor Agenda held up by four pillars; addressing the rights of women, providing a business-friendly environment, developing a knowledge economy, and transparent governing. Party is chaired by Mulbah K. Morlu. |
