Description | Pro-democratization party supporting Mon people minority interests and federalism. Party began as the Mon National Democratic Front (MNDF) until its dissolution on March 19, 1992, then re-emerged as the Mon Democracy Party on April 26, 2012. Upon union with the Mon Regional Party on January 26, 2014, the merged party became the Mon National Party (MNP). As the MNP, it contested 53 constituencies and won only one National Hluttaw and two State Hluttaw seats in the 2015 general election. Party was founded by U Naing Ngwee Thein. Party was abolished by the Federal Election Commission on July 11, 2019 [မွန်အမျိုးသားပါတီ]. |
