One of two militant Maoist Communist parties split from the Marxist-Leninist Organization of Greece (OMLE) in 1976. The two parties that split off differentiate themselves by moving 'Marxist-Leninist' behind or in front of 'Communist Party of Greece' but each remain almost identical in their worship of Mao Tse-tung and hatred for things American.
The M-L KKE backed Hua Kuo Feng and condemned the "gang of four". It also adopted the view that the USSR was, in the 1970s, just as dangerous as the US. It split from its twin 'comrade-in-arms' [the Communist Party of Greece (Marxist-Leninist) (Κ.Κ.Ε. (M-L)] in its unswavering support for Albania's Enver Hoxha. Party is run by steering committee [Μαρξιστικό-Λενινιστικό Κομμουνιστικό Κόμμα Ελλάδας; Marxistiko-Leninistiko Kommounistiko Komma Elladas, M-L KKE (Μ-Λ ΚΚΕ)].
