Green Party in Bulgaria (founded December 28, 1989; renamed 'Green Party' in 2009) and this 'green' party, registered as 'The Green Party' in 2001.
The Green Party was created after a split off during a congress held by the 'Green Party in Bulgaria' in October 2000. The individual leading the split was Hristo Portochanov, who became the new party's Chairman. After he lost interest and abandoned the party, he was replaced by Valentin Simov in 2005. Simov entered his party to contest in the legislative election of March 2017, taking 0.30% of the vote [partia na zelenite (PnZ)].
