Next year, it may also be ground zero in the fight for control of the Senate.
While Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln has hewed to the center — supporting the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, opposing the estate tax, supporting abortion rights, opposing school vouchers — Republicans say the first-term senator is vulnerable when it comes to guns and the war on terror.

That’s led GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee; Asa Hutchinson, undersecretary for border and transportation security at the Department of Homeland Security; and former state legislator Gunner DeLay, a distant cousin of the House majority leader, to consider challenging Lincoln.
