Description | The trade deal which landed SC farmers $10 million in sales of agricultural products to Cuba is drawing fire from Mike Campbell, son of former Governor Carroll Campbell.
Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer (R-Chapin), State Agricultural Commisioner Charles Sharpe (R-Wagner) and State Rep. Chip Limehouse (R-Charleston) signed the deal after a three hour meeting with Fidel Castro on a trade mission to Cuba.
Campbell, a probable candidate for Lt. Gov. in the Republican primary against Bauer in 2006, set up a polling analysis by McLaughlin and Assoc. The poll said that 47 percent of South Carolinians oppose trade with Cuba and 20 percent approve. |
