Description | Concord State Sen. Sylvia Larsen upped the tempo in what has become a slow game of sorts to find a Democrat to run for governor Wednesday by fully floating her name as a person prepared to form an exploratory within days. This news came out in the morning. At night Larsen attended a local fund-raiser where none other than Dick Swett, another potential gubernatorial candidate was the keynote. She left before he took the podium.
In what maybe the most significant developments for Democrats searching for a candidate to take on freshman Republican Gov. Craig Benson in the fall, Larsen and a handful of other Democrats who are considering running appear to be exploring some final avenues before decisions are made.
Even though he didn’t answer any questions about his possible future, those close to him politically say they actually expect Swett to run.
