| Description | "Republican Scott Brown may have scored a victory in last week's Senate race to fill the seat Cheryl Jacques vacated in January, but he may well have a battle ahead of himself to keep that seat.
His opponent, Democrat Angus McQuilken, decided not to seek a recount of the ballots cast in the election, even though he lost by a razor-thin margin of approximately 350 votes. After doing some research, he decided that a recount would likely not identify enough votes to change the outcome of the race, and he did not want to put communities, already struggling with their finances in a tough budget year, through that process.
But McQuilken has not ruled out challenging Brown in November, when the seat opens up again. And neither have some of the candidates who ran against McQuilken for the Democratic Party nomination."
