Description | Kosovo will go to early elections after the Constitutional Court overthrew the Hoti Government.
The pro vote of a previously convicted MP, Etem Arifi, who brought about the formation of the Hoti government has been illegal, and with this decision the government itself is overthrown.
Kosovo is now inevitably going to extraordinary elections within 40 days as the Hoti Government will be in power until the new government emerges from the elections.
MP Arifi was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months imprisonment by the Court of Appeals for fraud with subsidies. Despite this decision, he voted in favor of the Hoti government, but Lëvizja Vetëvendosje appealed to the Constitutional Court, claiming that Arif's vote had no legitimacy.
