DescriptionAn Adams County Sheriff's Office report detailing a June 28 attack on people cleaning personal protective equipment doesn’t discount political motivations.

he incident resulted in injuries to four people after the attacker, identified as 38-year-old Geno Arhchibeque, drove people off the road and threatened them with nunchucks. While the report doesn’t make clear whether political controversies over COVID-19 provoked Archibeque (those have inspired other threats locally), Archibeque made comments about armies and political conspiracies, the report said.

As employees were cleaning N95 masks, Archibeque entered the Waymire Dome at Riverdale Regional Park & Fairgrounds “talking crazy and weird,” according to witness statements in a report by Adams County sheriff’s Detective Angela Hall. A supervisor escorted Archibeque out, but he re-entered, prompting six employees to flee the building and climb into a rental Infinity. Most employees were from out of state and are contractors with Battelle, the company that manufactures the disinfectant machines.
