Description | Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg has announced his campaign staff and office plans for Kentucky.
Bloomberg, who served as New York City's mayor from 2002 to 2013, tapped Democratic strategist Jason Perkey to serve as the state senior adviser. Perkey, a Kentucky native, worked on former President Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear's 2011 reelection campaign.
The former New York mayor already had a tie to Kentucky before this announcement, as Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is a co-chair for his presidential campaign.
"Our Kentucky team is talented and energized, and full of people who love and are ready to serve Kentucky," Fischer said in a statement. "The issues we face in Kentucky are serious, varied and reflective of the nation as a whole. That’s why we are building a grassroots network that is capitalizing on the momentum from our last election."
Other members of the team include Matthew Daley, Nick Pemberton and Mattie Herald, who all helped in Gov. Andy Beshear's successful election campaign, according to a press release. |
