DescriptionA large majority agreed to the coalition agreement. Now the way to swear the turquoise-green government is open.

Salzburg - The result at the end of the five-hour federal congress of the Greens in the Salzburg Congress House was very clear: 93.18 percent said "yes" to the turquoise-green coalition. Austria gets its first turquoise-green federal government. Despite criticism from the ranks, some of which were clearly expressed, there were only 15 votes against and three abstentions for the government pact with the ÖVP.

The green government team was also approved with 99.25 percent approval and only one vote against. The fact that the outcome of the Federal Congress could turn out better than expected was already announced when the negotiating team marched in. They were greeted with a standing ovation by the delegates, applause and occasional cheers. The 29 delegates of the extended federal executive board of the Greens had already unanimously approved the coalition with the ÖVP on Friday evening.
