Description | The race for Madison Parish Sheriff has drawn seven candidates as of the close of day one of qualifying on Tuesday, including former Attorney General Buddy Caldwell.
Caldwell said he entered the race due to the years of experience he can provide to the citizens of Madison Parish. In addition to serving as AG, Caldwell served several terms as district attorney of the 6th Judicial District.
"I feel compelled to get in there and make myself available so the public has a good choice of overwhelming experience," Caldwell said. "...I've had the experience with all the agencies in the state solving crimes and civil issues for all of the state agencies and administering 500 people in the AG's office statewide and about 35 folks as a 30-year district attorney." |
