Legislators in San Jose, Calif., agreed Tuesday to recognize gay marriage licenses granted by San Francisco and other cities. The 8-1 vote by the City Council follows an order on Monday by Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels to give city employees in same-sex marriages the same benefits as heterosexual marriages. |
