Description | Governor Mike DeWine says he will sign the controversial "Heartbeat Bill" when it comes across his desk. That same bill, which makes abortion after six weeks illegal, was vetoed by former Governor John Kasich.
Gov. DeWine made this promise during an interview with conservative radio host, Hugh Hewitt, during the latest episode of his show. In the interview, DeWine told Hewitt, "Yes, absolutely. I stopped by, my wife, Fran, and I stopped by a Right to Life meeting yesterday in the Statehouse, and absolutely."
The governor says he understands that the bill will likely face legal challenges immediately after it is signed and he is prepared for the fight, saying, "... ultimately, this will work its way up to the United States Supreme Court. And they’ll make that decision." |
