DescriptionPRAGUE — Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš denied an allegation that his son was kidnapped in order to prevent him from testifying in an EU subsidy fraud investigation.

The allegations, made by the prime minister’s eldest son Andrej Babiš Jr. to a Czech TV station from his home in Switzerland, led six parliamentary opposition parties to call on the prime minister to resign to enable the police to investigate the fraud charges.

Babiš Jr. told Seznam TV that he had been taken to Crimea against his will and held there. He did not say when or how the alleged kidnapping had occurred, how long he was held for or how he returned home.
