Description | When the televised debate Tuesday night was done between state Attorney General Marty Jackley and U.S. Rep. Kristi Noem, it seemed one cautiously took a little more ground while the other didn’t want to admit how close the enemy now was.
The two candidates meet Tuesday in the primary election that decides the Republican nomination for governor. The victor faces state Senate Democratic leader Billie Sutton in the general election Nov. 6.
South Dakota Public Television’s hourlong show was at least the fifth time they faced each other this year, beginning at the state tourism conference last winter. Neither sparkled Tuesday, as the months of simultaneously campaigning and working showed. |
