| Description | The mayor of Hamburg, Olaf Scholz, felt “ashamed” after violent protests marred the G20 summit, Germany’s Stern reported Tuesday.
However, the Social Democrat said he would not consider stepping down. “I will not grant the violent extremists that,” he told the paper in an interview that will be published in full on Wednesday.
“There is nothing to be sugar-coated, those were bad days for Hamburg,” Scholz said, but added that “the state has not failed.” |
