Description | LONDON — Britain’s Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson was ridiculed on social media Thursday for saying the country would make a “Titanic success” of Brexit.
Johnson made the gaffe at a political magazine’s awards ceremony attended by numerous politicians Wednesday night.
Prime Minister Theresa May put her head in her hands in response to Johnson's statement, according to media reports.
After realizing his error, Johnson said: “The Titanic exhibition in Northern Ireland is the single most popular tourist attraction in the province. Of course it is. And we are going to make a colossal — a colossal — success of Brexit." |
