Description | With tainted Eliot Spitzer, Anthony Weiner and Vito Lopez seeking returns to public office, state Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long says controversial Carl Paladino could be next.
Long said he is open to the idea of Paladino, the bombastic Buffalo Republican who got smoked by Gov. Cuomo in 2010, running for governor again next year on the Conservative Party line.
Paladino has said that if the Republicans can’t recruit a candidate suitable to his liking to challenge Democrat Cuomo, he might run as a Conservative, with the hopes of getting enough votes to catapult the small but influential party above the moribund GOP as the state’s second largest party. |
