Description | "Vice President Biden said Wednesday his son, Beau, "underwent a successful procedure" Tuesday at a Texas hospital and will head home soon to Delaware.
"He is in great shape and is going to be discharged tomorrow and heading home to Delaware," said the vice president and his wife, Jill, in a statement released by the White House.
Beau Biden, Delaware's attorney general, will be "following up with his local physicians in the coming weeks," the statement said.
Earlier in the day, the vice president canceled a fundraising appearance he was scheduled to make Thursday on behalf of New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan in Maine, so he could stay with his son at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
The elder Biden is still scheduled to appear with President Obama at an education event Friday in Scranton, Pa., where the vice president was born." |
