| Description | The WWE has its first ever openly gay wrestler! WWE superstar Darren Young has come out and admitted that he is gay, making him the first openly gay wrestler in the WWE and the first headliner wrestler to admit he is gay while still being signed to a major promotion. Young made the shocking announcement while speaking to a TMZ reporter at LAX.
As Young headed for the LAX exits, he was asked by a reporter if it's possible for a WWE star to succeed in pro wrestling as a gay man. "Absolutely. Look at me," said Young. "I'm a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. Very happy." However, Young was reluctant to call his statement a "coming out" and said, "I just don't think it matters." |
