Description | "Duck Dynasty" star Willie Robertson is being approached to gauge his interest in running for U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander's soon-to-be vacant congressional seat, sources tell The Washington Examiner. A special election is being held to fill Louisiana's 5th congressional seat after Alexander announced he was leaving the post to take a job in Gov. Bobby Jindal's cabinet.
While it's unclear whether the self-described "redneck millionaire" is interested in running, "a key outside advisor to House GOP leadership" told The Examiner efforts are being made to convince Robertson to run.
"My boys want to run Willie Robertson for the seat," the source said. Another "GOP official" told The Examiner the party is interested in Robertson but don't think it would be easy to entice him away from the A&E television show that has catapulted him to fame. |
