Description | "A vacant building being demolished collapsed onto a thrift store in Philadelphia early Wednesday, killing one person and trapping more than a dozen under rubble, some for hours, officials said.
One woman died as a result of the collapse, two sources close to the investigation told CNN on condition of anonymity.
Fourteen people were pulled from the rubble, including one woman who walked away from the scene with no major injuries after being trapped for more than two hours, said Mayor Michael Nutter.
Search and rescue crews continued to search for possible victims.
"We have two dogs that have come out to work the pile (of debris), to locate others," Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers told reporters. "...It's an active search-and-rescue right now." |
