Description | Stephanie Herseth Sandlin would like “to take all the time in the world” to decide whether to run for U.S. Senate or other political offices in 2014.
But she doesn’t have that luxury. Admitting a feeling of urgency, especially since Sen. Tim Johnson announced his retirement last month, the former Democratic congresswoman told the Argus Leader she is seriously considering a run for the Senate and plans to make her decision soon.
Herseth Sandlin, who represented South Dakota in the U.S. House from 2004 through 2011, said she’s getting “encouragement” to run from both South Dakotans and national Democrats and is “still trying to make what’s going to be a very hard decision.” |
