Description | Liberal MP Marc Garneau is dropping out of the Liberal leadership races according to multiple reports, as the former astronaut has looked to the stars and apparently only seen an inevitable victory by fellow MP Justin Trudeau.
A source told The Canadian Press that Garneau will make an official announcement later Wednesday. The source said Garneau is quitting simply because he believes Trudeau has far too much momentum going into April’s vote.
CBC is reporting Garneau will throw his support behind Trudeau.
Garneau, although well behind, was considered Trudeau’s biggest challenger due to his hefty resume. He had taken pot shots at Trudeau’s less-than substantial policy plans during the race, but nothing seemed to stick in a way to change the frontrunner’s status. |
