DescriptionWASHINGTON — Don't write off the contest for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District just yet.

Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing, a Democrat, has cut in half the gap between him and incumbent Republican Rep. Lee Terry, according to The World-Herald Poll.

Last week's survey of 400 registered voters in the district showed that Ewing trailed Terry by only 6 points. Among likely voters, Terry's lead shrank to 4 points, 47 to 43. That would be within the survey's margin of error.
