DescriptionHillary Clinton has opened the door slightly to staying on for the start of a second term, according to a new interview with the secretary of state.

Clinton told The Wall Street Journal it was “unlikely” she would stay in her job past President Barack Obama’s second Inauguration but suggested the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four American diplomats might cause her to remain for a time.
“A lot of people have talked to me about staying,” Clinton said, while declining to name names.

Clinton has previously said in numerous interviews that she planned to leave at the end of Obama’s first term.

Clinton also reiterated her denial that she would run for president in 2016.

“I have ruled it out,” she said. “It’s important for me to step off this incredibly high wire I’ve been on, to take stock of the rest of my life.”
