DescriptionI received this e-mail from the Wesley Clark campaign, the second one they have sent out since he sent out the one announcing he was out of the race. I think it is a great move by Clark to use his relatively large e-mail list (only smaller than Dean's among Democrats, I believe) to bring money to other Democratic candidates. Now -- will Wesley Clark's critics please stop talking about him being a Republican? I know you all won't, but I sure wish you would. Here is the email, below:

Dear _______ ,

Throughout this race, I've talked at length about what's at stake in this election, for our party and our country. I've talked about the need to bring a higher standard of leadership back to the White House, about the need to take back Washington from leaders who privilege special interests at the expense of our great nation, and about the need to stand up for our Democratic values of faith, family, patriotism, and inclusion. And though I am no longer running for President, I will remain a strong voice for this party -- my party -- the Democratic party.

We have an opportunity today to continue the process of bringing a higher standard of leadership to Washington by taking back the U.S. House of Representatives. If we are going to do something about the 9 million Americans who are out of work, the 35 million who live in poverty, and the 44 million who are without health care, we need to break the Republican grip on the U.S. House of Representatives. On February 17th, we can help take the first step in that direction by helping my friend Ben Chandler win the special election to represent Kentucky's 6th Congressional District. And to do this, he needs your financial support today.

Help take back the House today!

Having served as a Commander at Ft. Knox during the Vietnam War, I have a special fondness for Kentucky and a sincere desire to see candidates who stand for everyday Kentucky families elected to office. Ben Chandler embodies the qualities we most need
