DescriptionState Assemblyman Robert Schroeder (R-Bergen) was charged with writing nearly $400,000 in bad checks to people who invested large sums in his company, All Points International Distributors, the state Attorney General's Office said today.

Schroeder, 52, of Washington Township, was charged with second-degree passing bad checks as a result of an ongoing investigation by the State Police Official Corruption Bureau and the state Division of Criminal Justice.

He was charged this morning at the State Police barracks in Totowa and is expected to be released without bail after being processed , the office said in a news release.
