DescriptionGov. Chris Christie said Monday that New Jersey has “got enough gun laws now” and that he was “disturbed” by politicians grandstanding about gun control in the aftermath of the mass shooting at a Colorado movie theater.

“I agree with the president on this, I think that we’ve got enough gun laws now,” Christie said when asked at a press conference whether the state needs tougher gun laws, according to PolitickerNJ.

White House press secretary Jay Carney said Sunday that the president is focusing on protecting the Second Amendment and enforcing existing gun laws rather than pushing for new regulations.

Christie added, “I am a little bit disturbed by politicians who in the immediate aftermath of this type of tragedy, try to grandstand on it, and I’m not going to be one of those people.”
