Rendell says Obama campaign 'went too far' on Bain

On MSNBC Friday, Rendell, a Democrat, said he thought that the Obama campaign "may be hurting the president's brand a little bit" with its attacks on Mitt Romney over the issue of when he severed his connection to the private equity firm Bain Capital.
"I think our supporters went a bit too far with the felony business," Rendell said.
He was referring to comments by Obama's deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, that Romney may have committed a felony by signing filings with the FEC that indicated he was the CEO of Bain for nearly three years after he said he left the company, in 1999.
That hit caused Romney's campaign to ask for an apology from Obama, which has not happened." |
